Vision

In today’s AI-driven world, I believe taste is what separates good websites from great ones. By combining design, development, and motion, I aspire to build experiences that are both functional and delightful. I plan to join a team that shares these values, focusing on building digital products distinguished by thoughtful design and genuine craftsmanship.

Learning

I’m deepening my knowledge of React through Josh Comeau’s course "The Joy of React", while also exploring the world of motion through Emil Kowalski’s course "Animations on the Web". So far, they’ve been wonderful. I’m so excited to implement my learnings and breathe more life into my website in the coming months.

Projects

In a humble attempt to “quickly” update my websites 3-year-old dependencies, I fell face-first into a full-on refactor & redesign. I’ve turned my portfolio into the Digital Garden you see here today—my safe-space where I can plant seeds of imperfection through experimentation, writing, and learning in public.

This project heroic misadventure spanned a few major phases. I upgraded React, Next.js, and Sanity; shipped new pages (Now, Contact, and project detail pages); and added core features like the contact form, menu drawer, and an MDX‑powered blog with syntax highlighting and custom components. I refreshed the design system and dropped SCSS Modules for CSS Modules while integrating Tailwind v4 in a non-intrusive way. Lastly, I polished everything off with some thoughtful motion throughout, including a fancy “mosaic reveal” effect for hero images.

It’s been such a joy to express myself through this newly-minted Digital Garden. If you'd like to see what it looked like before these updates, take a step back in time.

Life

In my day-to-day life I enjoy walking through High Park with my Standard Poodle Aura, listening to a variety of music, exploring new coffee shops/restaurants, cooking, playing Fortnite, and whether it’s summer biking or winter snowboarding—I always enjoy being in nature.

In the future I would love to get some more travelling in. I’m eager to visit places like Japan, along with exploring a few more countries in Europe.
